Best Supporting Role: A Marion Independent School District faculty or staff member who has had the most impact on the lives of his/her students and/or the community.

Nominees:

Carole Kerr, MISD Retiree – Starry Reading Improvement Teacher

Kevin Wake, MHS Language Arts Teacher

Sondra Parman, MISD Retiree – Starry Kindergarten Teacher

 

Best Leading Role: A family that has at least three generations (i.e., parents, children, grandchildren) of Marion alumni. The family matriarch and/or patriarch should be nominated.

Best Writer: A published journalist or author who has written positive stories/commentaries for or about Marion (city and/or school district).

Judith Hull – Marion Historic Preservation Commission – “Around the Park: Marion Merchants Then and Now”

William Page – MHS1945/MISD Retiree – “Boy Scouts, Bullies and Indian Creek It Happened in Marion”

Dan Kellams – MHS 1954 – “A Coach’s Life: Les Hipple and the Marion Indians”

 

Best Director: A Marion alum or resident who has served as an example to others and “directed” future generations by setting a good example through giving back to the community.

Nominees:

Chief Terry Jackson – MHS 1977 and Marion Fire Department

Amy Grannan Bean – MHS 1984 and Mr. Beans

John Winistorfer – MHS 1972 and Marion Mixers

 

Best Picture: A Marion family that has “painted the best picture” of the MISD community; in volunteerism and service, philanthropy, education, or arts and culture.

Lifetime Achievement: An individual or couple who has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to the Marion community through volunteerism, professional and personal accomplishments and made a lasting impression on those around them.

Mary Lou Pazour – MHS 1955 – Retired MISD, Marion City Council, and Marion Foundation Board

Captain Robert Huffman, Retired – MHS 1973 and Marion Police Department
