Part-Time (20 hours/week)

Founded in 1988, the Marion Independent School Foundation & Alumni Association is a 501c3 organization dedicated to supporting education for the benefit of Marion Independent School District students, schools, and the greater community. OVERVIEW

The Alumni Relations Director provides support to Marion Independent School District alumni by connecting them with classmates and assisting with class reunion planning; they will also collaborate with community partners on historical archives. Other duties include grant writing, volunteer management, marketing efforts including website, social media and print communication, and planned giving.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate has knowledge of the Marion Independent School District, Marion Alumni Association, and/or the Marion community. Prior writing, planned giving, non-profit or fundraising experience a plus.

JOB DUTIES

  • Responsible for marketing materials including but not limited to newsletters, blogs, website content and social media.
  • Lead planned giving efforts by creating and executing thoughtful strategies that includes the establishment of planned giving materials to share with potential donors.
  • Focus on relationship building, particularly as it relates to alumni and alumni-owned businesses, and lead the Alumni Engagement Committee to offer engagement opportunities.
  • Lead Alumni Association efforts including support for class reunions, tracking and making available to the community historic archives, and collaborating on Hall of Fame groups.
  • Provide communication support by answering phones and handling correspondence, especially as it relates to alumni.
  • Work with the Administrative Assistant to maintain the alumni/donor database and produce reports as needed.
  • Work with the Executive Director to engage volunteers on Alumni Association projects.
  • Assist the Executive Director with signature fundraising programs and other activities as requested.
  • Plan the annual golf tournament with collaboration from the Golf Committee and Foundation staff, in addition to assisting with other fundraising efforts as needed.
  • Lead the scholarship program, including the establishment of new scholarships, application process and Senior Awards Night.
  • Promote the mission and vision of the Marion Independent School Foundation & Alumni Association.

REQUIREMENTS

Valid driver’s license and ability to pass federal and state background checks per Marion Independent School District policy requirements.
