Loco Drone curriculum, purchased through the support of a Marion Foundation Grant, allows 8th grade tech students the opportunity to combine their learned middle school technology skills of hardware, coding and working with a partner, to build and fly their own drone.
Students have already learned so much from this program. But don’t take our word from it, here is feedback from students currently using this program:
“Our society has been advancing with technology day by day. It’s now a huge part of our everyday life. I think this drone unit has taught us a lot about what our life could be like after high school. I really liked flying the drone because of the coding part. The coding tells the drone exactly what to do and I think creating that is so cool. Every part of the unit ties into how the drone works down to the motor. It’s very informative and teaches us a lot, but very fun all at the same time.”
“One of my favorite things about the drones was using the hand controller.”
“I like doing the drones because it helps me learn how to code the drones and how to fly them.”
