Grant Funding Helps Vernon Students to Capture Memories

During fall of 2021 Vernon Middle School 8th Grade Literacy Teacher Nadine Bellinger wrote a funded grant to the Marion School Foundation to purchase two digital cameras for middle school yearbook student use.

The cameras will give Vernon students more ownership of the yearbook and allow them take photos to share with families through social media. The cameras also prepare students for high school/postsecondary photography and yearbook classes. We look forward to seeing images captured by middle school students!

The Marion Foundation’s grant program provides teachers an opportunity to receive funding for projects that benefit students in the Marion Independent School District. Grants are made possible because of generous contributions the Foundation receives throughout the year from both businesses and individuals as well as a number of educational funds that are invested with the Foundation for long-term benefit.
