James R. Hanson, 91, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Cottage Grove Place.
James was born on October 28, 1931, in Dickinson, North Dakota, the son of Edwin and Rose (Reis) Hanson. After serving honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict he went on to attend Iowa State Teachers College. On August 8, 1987, James was united in marriage to Julie Lynn Hahn in Marion. He was a teacher for the Marion Independent School District from 1960 until his retirement in 1990. James will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
