On December 6,2022, the Marion Independent School Foundation & Alumni Association received a Theisen’s More for Your Community grant in the amount of $3,000 to support the cost of school lunches for students in the district. During the pandemic, wavers allowed school lunches to be free for all students in the Marion Independent School District, but this support has ended. Funds will be used for lunch accounts for staff identified families who are experiencing an unexpected hardship but do not qualify for free and reduced lunch, and who have demonstrated a good-faith effort in keeping current with their payments.
